Prenotification

A requirement of the legislation is that importers or agent acting on behalf of the importer must notify Port Health of imports in advance of their arrival. Below, is a list of the minimum pre-notification times and method of notification.

at least 24 hours (*with a derogation to 4 hours before arrival if there are logistical constraints)

CHEDD using IPAFFS 

Products of Animal Origin (POAO) including fish 

at least 24 hours (*with a derogation to 4 hours before arrival if there are logistical constraints)

CHEDP using IPAFFS 

Organic 

at least 6 hours 

Certificate of Inspection (COI) using PHILIS DES (a guide can be found here)

Plastic Kitchenware from China & Hong Kong

at least 48 hours 

Plastics Declaration Document (PDD) using PHILIS DES (a guide can be found here)

 

*The 4 hours derogation ONLY applies to CHEDD's and CHEDP's. The derogation will ONLY cover the consignment where an agreement between the agent / importer and Ashford Port Health has been confirmed. 

 

Failure to meeting the required pre-notification times will result in a charge of £109 as a late notification fee.
